Miniature cake slices with fancy cream and sprinkles in progress- Charms to Wear.

A small line up of a few of the slices of cake I made last week.
They are fresh out of the oven here and still works in progress!

Hand piped polymer clay frosting and hand cut flowers, hand rolled "sugar pearls" too.

Layers of cake and sweet cream!

Hours and hours of work to get these flowers made!

Thank you for viewing my latest experimentation with polymer clay!

Wishing everyone a healthy and pleasant Memorial Day.

Thank you to the armed forces past and present who make it possible for me to sit peacefully in my studio and create these sweet little sculptures!
I am thankful for the freedom.

A Charming Challenge using images from Rian Design! Would you like to join me?

You will see some new eye candy, coming soon- using the fun and colorful digital art from Rian Designs!

Shrink plastic with gold leaf.

If you have not yet been to Rian's site- take a look!!! Here is the link to her Shop<--

I will be giving away several charms made using the images as well as some miniature pop up books!
:)

So what is the challenge? I am hoping that other charm making artists and designers will try using Rian's images to create charms & miniature art with! If you would like to participate, all you'd need to do is use any of her images to create your charms or minis, post them to your site or blog and then leave a comment with a link to view your work. If there are enough of us, perhaps we could also work out a charm swap or blog hop as well.

I chose a bunch of sheets from Rian's shop to work with and I've made mini books, shrink plastic tags, charms and 3D collages as well as some of the images mounted on metal and wood.

Here are just a few "test" pieces... I will post finished pieces through July.

Shrink plastic, more saturated color, test piece.

APRIL 28TH OF EVERY YEAR = INTERNATIONAL HANDMADE ART CHARMS DAY.

Also known as, International Charm Day. On this day we celebrate life, friendship, artistic charms to wear. We do this by sharing and wearing our own handmade art charms or give gifts of charms, charm making supplies or charm related items. Love, hope, charity, creativity, friendship, kindness, happiness and sharing are many of the founding components behind this event. We share with those we know and those we do not know. This holiday provides a springboard for all sorts of creative RAKS (random acts of kindness) or planned events. Many choose to share their own tutorials on how to construct a unique art charm, some set up a day of charm making workshops, some even leave charms with little notes and an email address in various public spaces. However you choose to celebrate, do it with an open heart. You will find that the world is in need of more days such as this Please join us! If you blog about this event, host a tutorial, or would like to share a story about how you plan on celebrating the holiday, share a link with us!

~*HAPPY SPRING!*~

Polymer clay doodle beads.

Some people drink to unwind after a tough day of work.
I doodle with clay!
These are my "cheer up, it's spring!" beads!
:)
It's been a very busy week for me so far.
The beads were rushed, as I didn't have very much time to make them, but I wanted to do something cheerful and funny. :)

HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE!!!

Miniature Pop-Up Book Samplers~*Charms*~

:)
Hello! I joined a miniature pop-up book charm swap and it was a fun one for me!

Here is a sampler mini pop-up book.

I used random scraps of leather for the covers, with hemp cord and Amethyst Iris 4mm beads for the closures. The text I used came from 2 loose pages that I had laying on a shelf for a project such as this one.  So I just cut out random words and pieced them together. It's a bit odd, yes, but I hope those who get the books add to them or enjoy them as is.

The lever moves from side to side allowing her hand to "strum" the strings of the harp. :) The piece is smaller than 1 inch. The other pages are 2.5 cm square (1 inch square)

I have found a new hobby! :)
I made a lot of elaborate prototypes that were fun to work on, hopefully I will be done with some by next month. I'll be giving one of theses away during the Charm Day event the week following April 28th. :)

~*A beaded bracelet*~

I made this as a holiday gift last Christmas. I was inspired by a few bracelets that I saw posted on Etsy. This is made of safety pins, seed beads and crystals, strung on stretch elastic.
It is a bit rough on the skin when taking it on and off,
as it can scratch and hurt, but it looks so pretty!

~*A bracelet I made...*~

I created this bracelet as a gift and had the idea to teach a class on how to make these.
I love playing around with bottle caps!

Vintage glass rhinestone stars mixed with modern plastic star flatbacks.
Little kitties and other embellishments.

International visitors!

Hi to all of the visitors coming over from Spain, Asia, Europe and Russia today. I wanted to thank you for taking the time to view my blog. I placed a translate gadget at the top of the page so that you can change the format to fit your language. I hope it helps.
Some of the translation is wrong and it changes the words around or makes words up. We speak different dialects and the meaning is lost in translation.  Please comment in your native language if you do not know English- It's OK :)

12th scale miniature confection in progress!

A very tiny confection! The size of... A DIME!-
A slight bit smaller than a dime, actually!

Here it is, below, on top of a dime.

This is a piece in progress.

It took me about 2 1/2 hours to "build," so far-
minus the prep time it took to blend,
condition, shape and mix the clay. That took about 4 hours.

A total of about 6.5 hours.
This is a 100% polymer clay creation!
